Flood waters are subsiding on the Gasconade and Big Piney Rivers. The Big Piney River gauge at Fort Leonard Wood’s Eastgate at 5 a.m. Wednesday measured below flood stage at 6.12 feet and falling. This comes after a crest of 15.93 feet on Tuesday. The East Gate to Fort Leonard Wood is expected to reopen sometime this morning. The Big Piney near Edgar Springs was 6.43 feet and fell at 5 o’clock. It had crested at 17.11 feet on Tuesday. The Gasconade River near Jerome is now on the fall, recording a depth of 14.11 feet at 4:45 this morning. For a brief time, waters were slightly over bank after reaching a crest of 15.09 feet.
