Sheriff’s Department Could Get New Equipment

The Laclede County Commissioners discussed an agreement at their regular meeting yesterday (Tuesday). There was one major bid item on the commissioner’s agenda for their meeting, and that was to discuss an agreement with Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap on new equipment. Presiding County Commissioner Randy Angst asked Sheriff Millsap how many units will require the body cameras, and how they will help benefit his officers.
Angst and the commissioners approved the matching grant for $23,920 and say the award begins on February 1 2024 and ends on June 30, 2026. Millsap says that the new body cameras should be good for the next decade, and is hopeful to get them out for bid soon.
